How to change the username in gmail ( google mail)??????

i just want the user name to change

for example xxx@gmail.com into yyy@gmail.com



i want the mails to come to the same id



but want the username to change



please help

Create your yyy@gmail.com Account.



Log into your xxx@gmail.com Account.

Click on %26quot;Settings%26quot;.

Click on %26quot;Accounts and Import%26quot;.

Click on %26quot;Add POP3 Email Account%26quot;.



Enter your yyy@gmail.com address.

Click on %26quot;Next Step%26quot;.

Enter your FULL username (yyy@gmail.com).

Enter your password.

Leave the Server and Port as it is.

Optionally: Choose a Label for the emails.

Optionally: Archive - Skip Inbox.

Click on %26quot;Add Account%26quot;.

Choose whether you want to send Email as yyy@gmail.com or not.



Depending on your decision, click the %26quot;Next Step%26quot; or the %26quot;Finish%26quot; button.



I can't help you if you chose to send emails as yyy@gmail.com. (%26quot;Next Step%26quot; button.)

I tested this with the work's email, and that will raise eyebrows.

But if you choose to send emails as yyy@gmail.com%26quot;, It will send a confirmation code to yyy@gmail.com.

You will need to enter that code.



If you clicked on the %26quot;Finish%26quot; button, the yyy@gmail.com Account will be listed under %26quot;Check mail using POP3:%26quot;

Google will automatically check and import emails from yyy@gmail.com.

Its not possible to change the username of Gmail account.You can use alternate email addresses to sign in to your Google Account.

Alternate email addresses can only be associated with one Google Account at a time.

In some Google services, if you share your alternate email address with your contacts, they might be able to learn your primary email address.
Oh my... what have you got yourself into. lol. Ok, go to settings and click the tab thats says %26quot;accounts and forwarding%26quot; or somthing to that matter. then scroll to the botom of the page and theres a link to account settings. click it and it will take you to your personal info settings page. you will then see the link to change your personal info. Good luck.



Added- i may have misunderstood you. the user name you cant change, however, the display name that people will see when you send them emails can be changed. I should have read it slower.
No, it is not possible to change the username of a gmail account.



Why dont you create a new one instead of using the old one?
You can't change the username instead of creating new account with Google.

try making a new account!

i dont thinks possible on Gmail, Yahoo provides such facility though

check in the setting options u make get a link
AFTER LOGIN GO TO MY ACCOUNT( SETTING) AND CHANGE YOUR DESIRE NAME.
