How does google get its information and if its wrong how do you change it?

My friends mom has a reality website but got a new webpage and when you search her name it come up on the old wabsite and we need it to come up on the new site. How do we change it for when you search her name it comes up the new site?

google and other search engines use bots (often called spiders or crawlers) which visit hundreds of sites every day (actually they read the code) and search for the most common words on each web page. so for example if your website is about ms Eva Green (random example), the name Eva Green will appear more often and will be the search word for people looking for that website.

when someone types Eva Green into google, yahoo or any other search engine, it will give them a list of the websites that have been marked with that word.

so basically, you have to wait until a spider visits your web page again, that's when the information will be updated.

Follow the instructions on how to remove a website in Google's index so the old site will not be visible anymore

Urgent removal request http://www.google.com/support/webmasters鈥?/a>

Then make sure that the new site has external links (other sites linking to it) so that Google can index the new site faster. Submit press releases, or submit the site to directories and even social bookmarking sites such as Digg.com
you have to wait about a week from when you put the website on the internet for google to recognize it.
my msn is on google search and i am happy
